If you haven't used the Raley Sales Quotes and Purchase Orders before or would like to start from the beginning then follow the steps in this article.

  1. Create a new Jira issue type that will represent your Sales Quotes. Note, that your issue type must be Standard issue type, not subtask.

Your newly added issue type "Sales Quote" will appear under list of Jira issue types:

2.  Create a new workflow that represents your Sales Quote lifecycle. See the example below:

Note, that unlike with Purchase Orders, there're no specific requirements towards the Sales Quotes workflow. You can have any statuses and transitions which fits your business needs.

3.  Create a new blank JSM project.

4.  Go to Settings → Issues -> "Issue type schemes" and click on the button "Add issue type scheme" in the top right. Make sure that you have your newly added issue type listed in "Issue types for current scheme window" and that it is also set as Default issue type.

5. Go to Settings → Issues -> "Workflow schemes" link. Choose the Workflow scheme corresponding to your project and click on link Edit:

Click on button Add workflow → Add existing and choose your workflow designed for the Sales Quotes project. In this example, we use  "Sales Quotes workflow".

Click Next. In the following screen choose Sales Quotes issue type and click Finish.

You'll be presented with list of the workflows configured for your project. Remove the previously active workflow (if any) as shown on the screenshot below:

and click on Publish button.

7. Navigate to your project settings → Issue types. Click on button Actions → Edit Issue Types and make sure that Sales Quote is chosen as an issue type for the current scheme and it is also set as Default issue type.

Then click on Actions → User a different scheme and make adjustments as shown below:

8. Log in as Jira user that was used to install Raley app in the UPM. That user is automatically assigned to Company Admin privilege in Raley and it should be used to create other Raley app users.

Navigate to your Jira Universal Plugin Manager, choose Raley Sales Quotes and Purchase Orders and click on Configure button.

    1. In Jira config tab choose Sales Quotes and assign the following:
      1. Sales Quotes project - the project that you've created in step (3)
      2. Sales Quotes issue type - the issue type you've created in step (1)
      3. JSM Request type - the JSM request type for which you want the Raley Sales Quotes to be shown if you're on a JSM project. By default, it will not be visible

    1. In Company tab assign the following
      1. Company name - name of your Company
      2. Logo - a PNG file that will be used in your PDF sales quote
    2. In Departments tab - you define your company's organisational units and their details. At this point do not specify Employees for the department, as you will do that in the next step.
    3. In Employees tab - you configure your Jira users as company employees. One employee can be associated to 1..N departments and can also have multiple roles. If employee has Approval role then you should also provide his/her approval limit.
    4. API & Integrations tab - token for your B2B integration with our app

    9. Add an employee with Finance role - he will need to configure Default currencyTaxes and Suppliers applicable for your company

10. After you've configured Default currency and Taxes you will need to provide data about your company as a supplier. For that, navigate to your JSM project and click on Budgets and Suppliers link. Click on Suppliers tab and add a new supplier.

Pay attention to the data you enter into supplier add/edit screen, as this will be rendered in your customer-facing PDF file by default. Here's an example, how your supplier's screen could look like:

Finally, before saving, make sure that you have Sales Quotes supplier tickbox checked. This checkbox indicates that particular supplier will be used for generating sales quotes and there can be at most one such supplier. If you choose another supplier and mark it as "Sales quotes supplier" then the previous one will be set as a regular supplier.

11. This is an optional step. Add some products under your supplier. You can import them from a CSV file or enter manually. These products will be available for look-up when you generate a sales quote

12. Prepare your PDF template for Sales Quotes. Refer to this article for more details
